Comment to DM strategies for selling
Turn comments into conversations that lead to a purchase, without feeling pushy.

In short: Comment to DM works best when your caption has one clear call to action, one keyword that's easy to type, and a DM that immediately delivers what you promised. After that, offer just one next step.
Pick a short, clear keyword
Use one memorable word that relates to the post, like LINK, MAU ("want"), PROMO, or your product name. Avoid words that often show up in regular comments, so DMs don't go to people who didn't ask for them.
Put the call to action in the caption and the video
Mention it at the start of your caption and repeat it at the end of the video: "Comment LINK and I'll send it to your DMs". Lots of people watch without reading the whole caption.
Deliver what you promised in the first message
Don't make people answer several questions before they get the link. The first message should have a short greeting, the link or code, and one sentence of explanation.
Add one next step
- An "Ask first" button for questions before buying.
- Asking whether they'd like to hear about the next promo.
- Asking for a WhatsApp number to confirm orders, with clear consent.
Reply to comments publicly
A short reply like "just sent it to your DMs" in the comments shows others that it works, so they comment too.
What to avoid
- Sending promos that have nothing to do with the person's comment.
- Messaging people again after they've asked you to stop.
- Promising prizes in exchange for comments or follows in ways Instagram prohibits.
